How this teacher manages: instead of having classroom jobs, she had a boy and girl “helping hand” of the day. The two helpers were responsible for all of the classroom jobs (line leader, door holder, running errands, etc.) Just write each students’ name on a cutout of a hand and hang the hands on the wall and flip the hands each day. It is such a super easy system, and it works out so that students get to be a helper about once every other week.

I’ve been seeing a lot of pictures with teachers with jeans on at work which is crazy to me! The men have to wear shirts and ties at my school and women are supposed to wear business professional (although mostly we get away with business casual, but…

We’re pretty casual. I mean, when you’re hired, you’re given a logo hoodie and they’re seen throughout the building, even on the folks that are “dressed up”. Normal wear is business casual though.

Between crushes, fascinations and lust-have trends, our sea of inspiration is never-ending, which brings me to my latest obsession… the color MINT! From my manicures to my midnight snacks, I just cant get enough. I took a cue from my go-to hue and decided to inject a happy medium (literally) into my home. A new coat of paint can transform a room and your mood, but choosing the right color can be a little nerve-racking. I dove into this DIY with my head and paint brush held high knowing that Valspar’s Love Your Color Guarantee would be my safety net. Make your home stylish from the floor to ceiling with a freshly painted feeling!

To create: Chose three paint colors in a light, medium, and darker shade that hail from the same color family. I chose Valspar’s Ultra Green (light), Beach Blanket (medium), and Sea Treasure (dark).

STEP 1: Trim wall with painter’s tape and use a roller to paint entire wall the lightest hue. STEP 2: Paint a bottom panel with the darkest hue. STEP 3: Mix your medium and dark shade together to create the 2nd darkest color and paint a section. Next, move up on the wall and paint the 3rd section the middle color only. STEP 4: Blend the colors together using a smaller paint brush that is DRY, until areas and lines bleed together. You may need to touch up with mixed paint as you go, as it takes on an amazing ombré effect.

A co-worker and I were talking about our teaching team today and realized we all three have a distinct super-teacher power. Combined, we’d make Mega-Unstoppable-Teacher. This isn’t to diminish our other skills, but we all have a definite strength above all.

My super power? Ultimate creativity. I’m the sort that’s often told, “You should sell your stuff on Teachers Pay Teachers.” I can seemingly make a lesson, complete with craftivity, out of nothing at a moment’s notice. Of course, the ideas have really been brewing for weeks. Personally, I think I just like making things look pretty.

Co-workers one possesses ultimate organizational skills and has a resource for darn near everything. She’s the File Folder Game Queen. Co-worker two is the ultimate classroom manger and just plain rocks in general.

What’s your teacher super power?
